Great Scripture

13And he said, Go and spy where he is, that I may send and fetch him. And it was told him, saying, Behold, he is in Dothan.
14Therefore sent he thither horses, and chariots, and a great host: and they came by night, and compassed the city about.
15And when the servant of the man of God was risen early, and gone forth, behold, an host compassed the city both with horses and chariots. And his servant said unto him, Alas, my master! how shall we do?
16And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.
17And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.

I love this passage of Scripture! When we are going through a battle we can be overcome with fear and the enemy seems so big... but it's such a comfort that "those who are with us are more than those with them"
I was awake a long time last night dealing with fear and feeling like those against me were bigger and stronger than those for me... but God reminded me of this awesome passage of scripture and I took great comfort in it! He (God) also led me to a great book last night that really helped me get through the night... "Praying God's Word" by Beth Moore... what an amazing tool! I highly recommend it! The Word of God really is a weapon against our "enemy"... it's called the Sword for a reason!

*goose bumps* I LOVE that passage as well! Last night i as well found myself struggling with somethings. Though they weren't quite the same issues as you. I felt as though no matter WHAT i did, (live for the Lord, give everything i Have to Him, or what have you) I would be sent straight to hell, because the Lord didn't want me. Well let me tell you what! at first i was scared silly, but then i realized first off, that satan had planted those thoughts there, and secoundly Jesus LOVES me! "For God so loved the world, thay He gave His only begotten Son that WHOSOEVER believeth in Him shall NOT persih, but have EVERLASTING LIFE!"
The only way to rid your mind of these thoughts, is to fight with the only weapon that we are given! The sword of the Spririt! Defeat the lies with Truth! "Resist the devil and he shall flee form you."
A short while later, i found myself writing down scriptures into my journal, and began reciting them out loud. By the end of the night...i was free from those thoughts...Praise be to GOD forever and ever amen! :)
